Güney Azərbaycan İstiqlal Partiyası İrandakı insan haqları pozuntuları və bu ölkədə yaşayan azərbaycanlıların vəziyyəti ilə bağlı ABŞ prezidenti Barak Hüseyn Obamaya müraciət edib. Partiyanın mətbuat xidmətindən APA-ya verilən məlumata görə, müraciətdə İranda azərbaycanlıların hüquqlarının pozulması B. Obamanın diqqətinə çatdırılıb: “İrandakı fars azlığı irqi ayrı-seçkilik rejimi yaradaraq azərbaycanlıları öz dilindən, təhsilindən, mədəniyyət və tarixindən məhrum edir. Cənubi Azərbaycan xalqı olaraq azadlıq, demokratiya və insan hüquqları uğrunda mübarizə apardığımızı diqqətinizə çatdırmaq istəyirik. Tehranın terrorçu rejimi nüvə silahına malik olmağa çalışır. Bu, dünyanın güc balansını pozacaq və fəlakətli qarşıdurmalara səbəb olacaq”.
“Biz ABŞ-ın dostuyuq” deyən müraciət müəllifləri İranda fars şovinist rejiminin tələsinə düşmüş 30 milyondan artıq azərbaycanlı olduğunu qeyd ediblər: “Regionda sülhə aparan yol Cənubi Azərbaycan xalqının azadlığı və insan hüquqlarının təmin olunmasından keçir. Bizim diqqətə ehtiyacımız var. Bizi Amerikanın müttəfiqi kimi qəbul etməyinizi arzulayırıq”.apa

Dear Mr. President,
South Azerbaijani Independence Party would like to congratulate you on your presidency and wish you and your administration success in your programs of "change" and "hope".
We believe in your awareness of the dire situation of South Azerbaijanis in Iran. Persian minority in Iran has created a regime of apartheid, depriving South Azerbaijanis of their basic human rights of existence with their language, education, economy, culture and history. As South Azerbaijani people we would like to bring to your attention the fact that South Azerbaijanis are struggling for freedom, democracy, and human rights.
Dear Mr. Obama, Tehrans Terrorist regime is trying to achieve nuclear weaponry capability. This will disturb the worlds balance of power and create a situation for an inevitable and disastrous confrontations. But Tehrans immediate desired goal is to create a system of deterrence against what the so called Islamic regime is calling "the wests intrusion". If they achieve nuclear deterrence, they will easily crush the struggle of South Azerbaijanis and complete the creation of one language(Persian) and one religion(Shia) people in Iran.
The second issue we would like to bring to your attention is the fact that South Azerbaijanis are yearning for attention from democracies of the world. We are friends of US. Our slogan is not "death to America". We are not Iranians. We are not Persians. We are over 30 million Azerbaijanis trapped by Persian chauvinist regimes of Shahs and now Mullahs. South Azerbaijan is the "Achilles heel" of this Terrorist regime. The road to peace and harmony in the region is through freedom and human rights of South Azerbaijani people. We need attention. We need support from your administration. We are in the same side. We are standing for the same principles; freedom, democracy and human rights. As always, please consider us an ally and supporter of what America stands for.
